The Daihatsu Atrai Wagon 660 Turbo is a kei-class van built around a turbocharged 660cc engine paired with an automatic gearbox. It sits in a niche between a passenger carrier and a light cargo hauler, making it practical for small families, tradespeople, or anyone needing tall interior space in a compact footprint. The turbo unit gives it noticeably more pull than naturally aspirated kei vans, which helps when loaded or navigating city inclines. Fuel economy in Pakistani urban traffic typically lands in the 12-15 km/l range depending on load and driving style.
Being a discontinued Japanese kei import, parts availability is the main concern. Mechanical components like engine internals and suspension bits can be sourced through Japanese parts importers in Karachi and Lahore, but it takes more effort than a mainstream local-assembled car. Local mechanics familiar with kei turbos are available in larger cities but less common in smaller towns. At this age, buyers should budget for timing belt replacement, turbo boost hose checks, CV joints, and AC servicing. Resale is steady within the grey-import van segment but limited to a smaller buyer pool.
