The Changan UNI-K 2.0T FWD is a mid-to-large Chinese SUV aimed at buyers who want a spacious, feature-loaded vehicle without paying European or Japanese premium prices. The 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine produces a healthy amount of torque for its class, making it reasonably brisk in city traffic and composed on motorways. The automatic gearbox shifts smoothly in normal driving, though like most torque-converter units it can feel slightly hesitant when you need a quick overtake. Expect city fuel consumption somewhere in the 10-13 km/l range depending on how you drive.
Changan has been expanding its dealer and parts network in Pakistan fairly quickly, and the UNI-K is one of their flagship models, so official service support is more accessible than it was a few years ago. That said, independent mechanics outside major cities are still less familiar with this platform compared to Toyota or Honda. Resale values for Chinese SUVs in Pakistan have been stabilising but remain softer than Japanese equivalents, so factor that in if you plan to sell within three to four years.
