The Suzuki Ignis 1.2 GL is a compact crossover aimed at urban buyers who want something slightly more upright and distinctive than a standard hatchback, without stepping into larger SUV running costs. The 1.2-litre petrol engine is modest but adequate for city use, and the CVT keeps things relaxed in stop-and-go traffic. Expect city fuel economy in the 10-13 km/l range depending on traffic and AC load. The GL sits as the base trim, so features are functional rather than loaded.
In the Pakistani market, the Ignis has a relatively small but steady presence, mostly in larger cities. Suzuki's local dealer and parts network helps with basic servicing, though the Ignis is less common than Alto or WagonR, so some parts may need ordering. The CVT requires clean transmission fluid changes on schedule — this is worth checking on any used example. Resale is decent but not as strong as the more popular Suzuki nameplates, partly due to lower volume.
