About Haval

Haval was launched in 2013 as the dedicated SUV brand of Great Wall Motor — China's largest SUV manufacturer, founded in 1984. The brand focused on a single segment — sport utility vehicles — and rode the global SUV boom into one of the best-selling SUV nameplates in China within a decade. International expansion followed, with Haval establishing manufacturing or assembly partnerships across Russia, Australia, Latin America, and South Asia.

In Pakistan, Haval is assembled and sold by Sazgar Engineering Works Limited — a Lahore-based company with three decades of experience building three-wheelers, agricultural machinery, and trailers. Sazgar partnered with Great Wall Motor to launch Haval locally in 2022, and the H6 and Jolion quickly established the brand as a credible alternative to the Hyundai Tucson and KIA Sportage in the compact-SUV segment.

Haval's appeal in Pakistan is the equipment-for-money equation. The H6 and Jolion arrive with panoramic sunroofs, larger touchscreens, ADAS suites, and ventilated seats at price points that the Japanese mainstream typically can't match. The trade-off is a thinner used-market base and a younger service network — but for a new-car buyer who wants modern SUV tech without paying European money, Haval has become a serious option.

Haval FAQs

Common questions Pakistani buyers ask before choosing this brand.

Who manufactures Haval cars in Pakistan?
Haval cars in Pakistan are assembled and sold by Sazgar Engineering Works Limited — a Lahore-based company that has built three-wheelers and commercial vehicles since 1991. Sazgar partnered with Great Wall Motor of China to launch Haval locally, with assembly starting in 2022 at the company's Lahore plant.
Which Haval models are available in Pakistan?
The Haval H6 is the brand's flagship in Pakistan — a mid-size SUV that competes directly with the Hyundai Tucson, KIA Sportage, and MG HS. The Jolion sits a step below as a compact crossover. Both come in petrol and HEV (hybrid) trims, with the H6 also available as a PHEV in some markets.
Does Haval offer hybrid cars in Pakistan?
Yes — the Haval H6 HEV and Jolion HEV are sold in Pakistan, making Haval one of the more aggressive hybrid-pushing brands in the local SUV segment. The hybrid powertrain pairs a petrol engine with an electric motor, delivering meaningfully better fuel economy than the equivalent ICE variant in city driving.
How does Haval compare to Hyundai and KIA in Pakistan?
All three play in the compact-SUV space with locally-assembled Korean or Chinese SUVs. Haval typically leads on standard equipment — bigger screens, more ADAS features, panoramic roofs as standard — while Hyundai and KIA edge ahead on long-term resale and depth of service network. The H6 vs Tucson vs Sportage comparison is one of the most-searched in Pakistani new-car shopping.
Is Haval reliable for Pakistani conditions?
Haval H6 and Jolion units sold in Pakistan are spec'd for hot weather, with cabin AC tuned for sustained 40°C+ operation and suspension calibrated for local road quality. Service experiences vary by city as Sazgar continues to expand its dealer network — quality is generally solid in Lahore, Karachi, and Islamabad, with smaller cities still building up.
Should I buy a new Haval or a used Haval in Pakistan?
Haval is still a young brand locally — the used-market depth is shallow compared to Toyota or Honda, which means used prices haven't fully settled and depreciation curves are still being established. For most buyers a new Haval makes more sense today, especially with the warranty programme. As more inventory reaches the second-hand market over the next 2–3 years, used buying will become a stronger play.
