About Honda

Honda Motor Company was founded in 1948 by Soichiro Honda, an obsessive engineer who started by bolting surplus military engines to bicycles in postwar Japan. Within two decades, Honda was the world's largest motorcycle manufacturer; within four, it was building cars that taught the rest of the industry how to make small, efficient engines that didn't feel cheap.

In Pakistan, Honda is represented by Honda Atlas Cars Pakistan Limited, a joint venture with the Atlas Group operating since 1992 from a plant in Manga Mandi, near Lahore. The Honda Civic has long been Pakistan's aspirational sedan — the car the Corolla buyer trades up to once budget allows — while the City sits a segment lower as a popular family sedan. The BR-V and HR-V have given Honda a foothold in the compact-SUV space.

Honda's reputation in Pakistan rests on its engines. VTEC, i-VTEC, and the brand's naturally-aspirated heritage are part of the country's car culture in a way few other brands can match. Buyers who choose Honda are typically willing to pay a small premium over Toyota for a sportier, more engaged driving experience, while still getting the long-term reliability that Japanese engineering is known for.

Honda FAQs

Common questions Pakistani buyers ask before choosing this brand.

Who manufactures Honda cars in Pakistan?
Honda cars in Pakistan are manufactured and sold by Honda Atlas Cars Pakistan Limited, a joint venture between Honda Motor Company of Japan and the Atlas Group of Pakistan. The company has been operating since 1992 with assembly at its plant in Manga Mandi, near Lahore.
Honda Civic vs Honda City — which should I buy?
The Civic is Honda's flagship sedan in Pakistan: more powerful, better equipped, and longer — but also significantly more expensive. The City is positioned a segment below — smaller, lighter, more fuel-efficient, and considerably more affordable. The Civic is the right choice if you value performance, comfort on long drives, and presence; the City is the right choice if your priority is daily efficiency and a lower buy-in price.
Are there Honda hybrid or electric cars in Pakistan?
Honda has not yet launched a full hybrid or all-electric model for the Pakistan market. The brand's global hybrid lineup (e:HEV across multiple models) and EV roadmap have been announced, but Pakistan-spec rollouts are pending. Confirm the latest with a Honda Atlas dealer if hybrid availability is a deciding factor.
Why are Honda engines considered more reliable?
Honda was founded as an engine company before it ever built a car, and that DNA shows. Their VTEC and i-VTEC technology, decades of natural-aspiration refinement, and conservative tuning have produced engines that routinely cross 200,000+ km without major work when serviced regularly. The smaller-displacement turbo era has changed the game somewhat, but the engineering reputation is well-earned.
What is the resale value of Honda cars in Pakistan?
Honda Civic and Honda City both hold their value strongly in the Pakistani used-car market — among the better resale performers after Toyota Corolla. Buyers seeking a slightly sportier or more premium Japanese sedan over a Corolla almost always look to Honda first, which keeps used demand consistently high.
Should I buy a new Honda or a used Honda in Pakistan?
A new Honda gets you the full warranty, the latest safety features, and a known service history. A 2-to-4-year-old used Civic or City typically saves you a meaningful chunk off the new price while still delivering the engine longevity Honda is known for. Always verify the service history — a Honda that has missed scheduled maintenance is worth substantially less than one that hasn't.
